Autumn Leaves is a song about the ever changing cycle that nature endures. Although this song is about a tree and her changes throughout the year, it is also a Metaphor for our own species and how we have to adapt to many changes in our lives.
How we 'undress' our persona in front of some people and yet remain guarded with others.
How we have to face the Winter of our years and the effects that has on our psyche.
Lyrics
Autumn Leaves
1st Verse
She sheds her skin down from the sky
Falling leaves, watch them fly
To shine again
She has to fade away
She slides her dress down to the ground
And as it falls you won’t hear a sound
She slowly turns
Her face in to the wind
Chorus
Autumn leaves are raining down
Autumn leaves are raining down
Autumn leaves are raining down
Autumn leaves are raining down, down, down
2nd Verse
The evening Sun lays her to bare
The winter calls but she won’t care
To shine again
She has to fade away
Beneath her feet lies a dress of gold
The morning mist, it feels so cold
She slowly turns
Her face into the wind
Chorus
Autumn leaves are raining down
Autumn leaves are raining down
Autumn leaves are raining down
Autumn leaves are raining
Down, down, down
Down, down, down
